my fabulous coat collection

coats are another passion of mine. if you haven't noticed from my blog, i love talking about fashion. i especially love talking about all the lovely pieces i've collected over the past couple of years. i wish i was actually wealthy enough to continue to buy more and more pieces without every worrying about it, but the reality is, not many people can live that lifestyle including myself. let's stroll through time with my collection of fabulous coats..

Fall 2005, YSL Rive Gauche
most of my friends have seen me in this coat. i absolutely love the simplicity of this coat. i've never seen such a perfect shade of grey that can be worn over nice slacks and a dress shirt. keirdre saw my over protective-ness at a party once (to avoid dirt and drinks being spilled on it) as i made he drop her missoni on the ground to create a semi-blanket to house my baby (only to fuck it up later that night with a cranberry-vodka, a lot of slurring, an "oh-fuck," and lots of white napkins)

Spring 2006, Burberry Prorsum
i first started wanting a Burberry trench around the spring of 2006. it's very classic and to be honest is one of those pieces that will last for over a decade. as i started looking into the art of the trench, burberry's program to design you very own trench, i came across this prorsum beauty. i've always been a fan of prorsum and chris bailey's creations. this is no exception. the lining is amazing and the buttons are made of gold hardware. i love this coat.

Fall 2006, Dior Homme
it's no secret that Heidi Slimane's muse is the attenuated-one-skittle-a-day model. it is however a miracle that he managed to make something that fits me, and is actually quite big on me. nevertheless, finding this was like find golden treasure at the bottom of a cereal box. you'll have to eat all the cereal before you get your prize, but it sure was worth it getting fat on your way to the goal. ok, maybe that wasn't such a great analogy.

Fall 2007, Burbery Prorsum

Christopher Bailey continues to wallet fuck me. seriously. he sneaks in, fucks me and then steals all my money, but then leaves a beautiful coat hanging next to the dresser when i wake from a night of passion. ok seriously this is just a dream, but a very well thought out dream. i am in absolute love with his A/W 2007 collection. i don't normally dream about coats much, as i have a much bigger obsession with bags, BUT, i do pine for one coat per season that i think will look fabulouso on me. this is it. this blue is amazing. it screams look at me, i "want" attention. i admit, i'm an attention whore sometimes. i love it when people turn their heads to look at me on the street. could just be they are looking at my ragged lotus feet, but that's why i mask it with the beautiful coat, bags, and shoes. bye bye money, hello Burberry.
