barney's opens + boredom = obsessions

| |

so barney's ny finally opened it's doors on sept 19 in sf. can i get a hallelujah? i was sincerely hoping that barney's would not fall into the conundrum of what is "sf fashion." the same boring labels stacked in neiman's, saks and bloomingdales. fortunately, it did not disappoint with brands like balenciaga, lanvin, thomas browne and alexander mcqueen. thank god! even their co-op section carried McQ and 3.1 Phillip Lim, which i'm totally hot over. yet i'm not a small little asian boy that can carry it off. shit.

they even had valextra in the bag section. for the love of my almighty shopping deity. in fact, the only traditional brands that i noticed in the men's section were prada and dolce. i didn't see dior or gucci. i didn't see more obscure brands like ann demeulemeester or henrik vibskov. i might have to do another round just to do a brand check. they did have michael kors. ick. oh btw, if you're looking for an awesome shoe collection like the one in ny, prepare to be heavily disappointed where you will not find the likes of balenciaga, bottega veneta and margiela.

what was noticeably missing was their featured goyard anchor which they have in their ny building. lucky for sf, we have a stand alone goyard which happens to be the only one in the country. lucky us? lucky me?

me+boredom+sunday = shopping trip.

at the end of my day, i walked out of goyard with a red wallet. well i finally got it and all it took was a little boredom and a barney's ny to come to san fran.
